User terms and conditions for using nature observation database

1. Nature observation database (NOD) is an open database for everybody to insert species observations (mammals, vascular plants etc.) recorded in Estonia.

2. Everybody can use data of NOD in scope that public internet applications permit and which has not been restricted in present conditions. Using data with special restrictions needs a reference of nature observation database.

3. Detailed data which is not accessible can be asked and will be provided with agreement of Estonian Environment Information Centre, Estonian Naturalists´ Society, University of Tartu and Estonian Lepidopterologists' Society. This data needs a reference of NOD.

4. Every user may generate reports of his/her data without permission. In same conditions user can generate reports of observations inserted by other users when he/she has been identified as observer/co-observer or interested party.

5. The data of protected or invasive species will be used by the Environmental Board for complementing of national environmental register.

6. Every user can determine the public or non-public presentation of the photographs added to the observation. The restricted photos are visible only for administrators. Uploading photos taken by other persons is allowed only with the permission of the author.

7. Using photos from NOD without the permission of the author is prohibited.

8. Data inserted to NOD can be used by the owner (also observer, co-observer) without any restrictions according to the laws.

9. Publicly available data in NOD (who, where and when was observed) may be used for general analyses of species distributions (maps with UTM grid, general statistical overviews).

10. Entered data (include observers' first and last name) may be used for complementing international databases and are sent to the PlutoF database.
